Edinburgh Elopement in Holyrood Park

Alexandra & Maxime traveled all the way from Quebec in Canada to tie the knot in Scotland. Their Edinburgh elopement took place on a beautifully still, cloudy morning. When the couple arrived at the secret spot near Dunsapie Loch in Holyrood Park where their celebrant Annalese and I were meeting them, I immediately thought that Alex looked just like a beautiful elven princess from the Lord of the Rings with her handsome prince Maxime to escort her. The ceremony was so beautiful and heartwarming, with handfasting and personal vows which the couple have written out in French (their native language) in beautiful leather books. Alexandra was also carrying the most incredible colourful flower bouquet, with peach, blush and copper tones, carefully crafted by Aspen Florals.

After the ceremony we went on a little adventure around Holyrood Park, sprayed some champagne to celebrate and climbed up the St Anthony's chapel ruins to complete the fairytale. As a last touch, we headed to Bakehouse Close on the Royal Mile where one of the famous Outlander scenes was filmed (remember Jamie's print shop?). I thought this would be a perfect way to finish because Alex has given away the secret that she's a huge Outlander fan! As the couple were twirling around the close, we heard the passersby whispering: "It's Claire & Jamie!" This truly was the perfect way to finish this fairytale elopement.

Celebrant: Annalese Humanist
Florals: Aspen Florals

Your Scotland elopement can become your own little fairytale where you and your beloved are the main characters. I still have some spaces left for elopements for 2024 if you want me to help you create your own little fairytale!
