Madara & Armandas - Glencoe Elopement

Madara & Armandas chose to have their Glencoe elopement with their little son and two of their closest friends back in September. Their day was absolutely perfect, from the gorgeous dresses designed by the talented bride (Madara is a professional designer!) to the most incredible golden hour haze as the sun was setting shortly after their ceremony, to the beautiful ceremony conducted by one of my favourite celebrants - Andrew Scott. There's so much to say and to treasure about this day but I'll leave you with these photos that witness just how beautiful and intimate Glencoe elopements can be.

Some of the cool things Madara & Armandas incorporated into their elopement day:

• a hike to the ceremony location which included crossing a small stream

• personal & intimate vows written for each other

• handfasting (Scottish tradition) but using ribbons with traditional patterns from their home countries (Latvia & Lithuania)

• drinking whisky from the quaich (a beloved Scottish tradition)

• running aroung Glencoe through a light rain, fighting off some midges & getting photographed by a whole tour bus (some of these were involuntary)
